Making a DifferenceOn the 24th of November 2015, Petru lost the most important person in her life, her father. In May of the same year, he had been diagnosed with one of the most devastating diseases of our time - Motor Neuron Disease (MND), also called Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Petru helped take care of her father until the day he passed on. It was an experience that would change her life forever.
MND Facts:• It’s a disease that causes the nerve cells to waste away or die and no longer send messages to a person’s muscles.
• MND leaves people trapped in their own bodies. Unable to walk, talk or feed themselves, while their brain is still fully functioning.
• 300 000 people alive today will be diagnosed and die from MND.
• Every 90 minutes someone is diagnosed with MND.
• Every 90 minutes someone dies from MND.
• There´s no known cure.
Losing her father to this disease led Petru to dedicate the POINT line of products to him. The POINT initiative’s aim is to be a vehicle to create awareness, and to support various MND foundations, globally. POINT will contribute by fundraising, creating awareness and providing personal support to the families affected.

Walking the way with pHformula to create awarenessCAMINO DE SANTIAGO
For a thousand years, the Camino de Santiago or the ’Way of St. James’ has brought pilgrims from all corners of Europe, across the north of Spain to Santiago de Compostela.
They come to pay homage to the Apostle St. James at his final resting place in the city’s beautiful Cathedral.
THE IMPACT OF THE CAMINO
pHformula’s Camino journey began on 16 June 2019, joined by participants from Denmark, Germany, Russia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden and Ukraine. Even though our mission was to create awareness for Motor Neuron Disease, it also proved to be a personal journey for each and every one who walked with us.
We spent six unforgettable days walking through magnificent countryside, passing through numerous small villages and historic sites, sharing our story about MND/ALS to pilgrims, we met along the way.
I am deeply grateful and extend my heartfelt and sincere gratitude to everyone that walked the Camino with pHformula. An immense appreciation to Fundela in Spain who made MND/ALS research their life mission. We are so grateful that we could contribute and create awareness. Thank you to everyone for their support and love - you all are my inspiration! To my father who gave me the biggest gift of all – “To believe in myself.”
In June 2021, we will be walking the 2nd phase of the Camino.
